ARCH 162 - 3D Modeling: Rhino (Level I) + Grasshopper - 2 units
This course introduces 3D modeling for design visualization using Rhino and Grasshopper. Hands-on instruction will focus on digitally modeling designs with rectilinear and non-rectilinear geometry and exporting images for design presentation. Students should have basic knowledge of computers and file management. Two hours lecture, two hours non-lecture. Transfer Credit: CSU.
ARCH 170 - Intro to Fabrication for Architecture - 1 unit
This is a limited introduction to computer-assisted fabrication for architecture and custom construction and will cover shop safety and simple operations. Students will have the opportunity to use Computer Numeric Controls (CNC) and laser tools. Two hour lecture, two hour nonlecture. Transfer Credit: CSU. No prerequisites. ARCH 162 helpful.
ARCH 171 - Fabrication 1 for Architecture - 2 units
This beginning course is on digital fabrication techniques for architecture and custom construction and will include shop safety. Focus is on designing and fabricating basic projects using Computer Numeric Controls (CNC) and laser tools. Two hours lecture, two hours non-lecture. Transfer Credit: CSU. No prerequisite. ARCH 162 recommended.
This workshop will give students a functional understanding of Grasshopper and Parametric design. This will allow them to build on this understanding into more advanced projects of their own including design optimization with RhinoNest and creating their models on a laser machine.. Rhino Level 1 training is required to be able to take this training.

Introduction to Jewelry Design with Rhino & RhinoGold
This free, hands-on training session will allow you to get started with designing jewelry with Rhino/RhinoGold. Under the direction of instructor, you will learn how you can design jewelry with Rhino and how you can make wax models of your designs.
Jewelry Design with Rhino – Intensive five day class using Rhino, specific for the jewelry industry. You will learn to create your own designs as it applies to the jewelry industry today. Using Rhino interface, customize the modeling environment and create basic graphical objects-lines, circles, squares, surfaces and solids as well as five ring designs and one custom ring of your own design. You will learn to create for fabrication and or lost wax casting techniques. You will learn to convert 2-D drawings to 3-D jewelry models. Create realistic renderings that will amaze your clients.
